OAKVILLE, ON, Oct. 31, 2018 – Seasons Retirement Communities opens its doors on November 14 for national Take Our Kids to Work Day and welcomes Grade 9 students to learn more about rewarding careers in the retirement living sector.
Visiting students will have the chance to spend the day job shadowing a parent, friend, relative or volunteer host at a Seasons Retirement Community in Ontario or Alberta to get a head start on their careers and learn about the opportunities available to them.
“Students have many options after graduation. As they explore post-secondary education or consider future employment, they often overlook career opportunities that exist in the seniors housing sector,” says Jessica Poling, Senior Director of Employee Services. “We hope that Take Our Kids to Work Day encourages students to explore our multiple departments such as dining services, housekeeping, maintenance, sales, recreation and of course, care.”
Developed by The Learning Partnership in 1994, Take Our Kids to Work Day is an annual event that gives students the opportunity to discover a range of career possibilities and navigate their career interests. The event also gives Seasons an opportunity to share knowledge and advice on education, career choices and relevant skills required in today’s workplace.
Take Our Kids to Work Day is Canada’s most recognized career exploration event, with more an estimated 200,000 students visiting workplaces every year.
