May 18, 2021
Hello everyone,
I am pleased to share that we continue to have zero outbreaks at Seasons Retirement Communities.
Ontario
Changes to Directive #3, outlining new protocols for retirement homes, will occur once the provincial lockdown is lifted. Seasons is very eager to move forward with changes that afford our residents more freedoms safely, as allowed by the new vaccination penetration benchmark set by the government. We will continue to keep you updated about our progress and what this means for your Seasons Retirement Community specifically.
Here is a link to the updated Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority Scenario Matrix. As you all know, Ontario remains in a strict stay-at-home order until at least June 2, 2021. People are strongly discouraged from travelling outside of one’s region. When considering a visit to Seasons, please review the current provincial guidelines for all Ontarians and the policies and procedures under the ‘Grey (Lockdown) or Shutdown’ column.
Alberta
As I noted last week, we have updated our Visitor Policy to reflect the changes to CMOH 16. The Visitor Policy can be found on Cubigo, or we can provide you with a hard copy should you desire it. Please also see the Alberta Health “Family Support/Visiting” document on safe visiting practices, by visiting the link here.
The provincial government advised that additional restrictions will apply in certain hot spot areas with at least 50 cases per 100,000 people and at least 30 active cases. These restrictions remain in place for at least three weeks, even if a community moves below the threshold and extended if necessary. This impacts many Seasons Alberta communities. For an up-to-date list, we encourage you to visit the link here.
If you are a family member living in any hot spot location, and especially if you are not fully vaccinated, please reconsider whether a visit to a Seasons location is essential at this time.
Victoria Day
We are approaching the Victoria Day long weekend. Thank you to our staff, residents and families for being cautious and for continuing to follow our enhanced infection prevention and control protocols. The collective health of our retirement community members relies on your cooperation. I hope you
are all able to find safe, responsible ways to enjoy this holiday weekend.
Sincerely,
LeighAnne Voll
