COVID-19 Update Jan 16, 2021: Seasons St. Thomas

COVID-19-Blog

Hello everyone,

I need to alert you to an emerging situation at Seasons St. Thomas. We have just been advised that we have one positive staff case of COVID-19. As a result, Southwestern Public Health has officially declared us in outbreak.

We have started contact tracing efforts and will alert those who were in close contact with this individual. Those who are identified will be required to go for surveillance testing. As always, all team members are asked to self-assess for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure risk using our screening tool before reporting for their shift.

Public Health has determined that the risk to residents is low; therefore, residents do not need to isolate in the comfort of their suites at this time. If you are feeling unwell, please inform a Seasons team member immediately.

As we are in outbreak status, residents are asked to remain on-site and visits will not be permitted during this time. Any requests for access to the home by an essential designated caregiver will need to be requested and approved in advance by Seasons St. Thomas and Public Health. At this time, we encourage you to keep in touch with your loved one via phone, text or email. Our team members are more than happy to discuss alternative options to help you stay connected.

Please rest assured that we have enacted robust infection prevention and control measures. We will continue to work collaboratively with Public Health and follow all directives they set forth.

The health and safety of all our staff and residents remain our greatest focus. Thank you for the trust you have placed in Seasons Retirement Communities. We take our responsibility very seriously and will continue to make decisions with our staff and residents’ health and safety in mind.

Sincerely,

LeighAnne Voll
