December 8, 2020
Hello everyone,
Let me begin by updating you on the situation at Seasons Camrose. We continue to have one positive staff case and a total of eleven resident cases. Despite the positive diagnoses, the affected residents are doing well. We have been communicating with Alberta Health Services and Seasons Camrose residents and their families, regularly.
I want to thank the Seasons Camrose team for their dedication to the safety and well-being of their residents, and fellow team members, during this challenging time.
It appears we are getting closer to a COVID-19 vaccine in Canada. Seasons is very pleased to learn that retirement home staff and residents will be prioritized. We encourage all who are eligible to get the vaccine as soon as it is available.
In the meantime, many of us are looking to the holidays, adjusting plans and preparing for a very different Christmas. Once again, all but two Seasons Retirement Communities are in a provincially mandated or recommended Alert or High Alert status. With cases on the rise in both Ontario and Alberta, the provincial governments and respective Chief Medical Officers of Health (CMOH) may very well intervene in retirement home operations and impose further restrictions in the name of staff and resident safety. We will keep you informed as we learn more.
Please rest assured that even if you are apart from a loved one at Seasons, they are not alone. If you are having trouble connecting with your loved one virtually, please contact your Seasons residence and we will help arrange a virtual call. As I noted last week, Seasons team members are busy planning ways to mark the holidays in our communities, so our residents may enjoy Christmas, safely. We look forward to sharing photos of our preparations and celebrations on our social media channels throughout this month.
Seasons remain committed to following all directives from local public health, our sector regulators and provincial CMOH directives. We continue to practice strict infection prevention and control measures as the health and safety of our staff and residents remain our greatest priority. Thank you to our staff and residents for their cooperation and vigilance.
We know you have many choices when it comes to where you live and work. Thank you all for the trust you have placed in Seasons Retirement Communities.
Sincerely,
LeighAnne Voll
