Alberta Health has crafted a new legislative framework, which includes the Continuing Care Act. Lodges or Retirement Communities such as Seasons will fall under the Home and Community Care umbrella, which includes support with daily living, among other services.
Formerly known as Designated Supporting Living, adults living in a Continuing Care Home Type B need significant support many aspects of daily living but do not need care in a Long-Term Care residence.
Residents receive personal care, as outlined in their individual care plan. They also receive three meals daily, housekeeping services, access to our activity programming and 24-hour emergency response.

Alberta’s continuing care system provides Albertans with the health, personal care, and accommodation services they need to support their independence and quality of life. Any Albertan can receive continuing care services, regardless of age, diagnosis or the length of time they need support. Anyone can call to arrange an assessment for a friend or loved one who cannot call Health Link themselves.
