What is Continuing Care Home Type B?

Alberta Health has crafted a new legislative framework, which includes the Continuing Care Act. Lodges or Retirement Communities such as Seasons will fall under the Home and Community Care umbrella, which includes support with daily living, among other services. 

Formerly known as Designated Supporting Living, adults living in a Continuing Care Home Type B need significant support many aspects of daily living but do not need care in a Long-Term Care residence.

Special Features

Under the Continuing Care Home Type B, there are various levels of care designed to meet the individual and evolving needs of our residents. They include:

• Continuing Care Home Type B Level 3 (Formerly known as Supportive Living 3 or SL3), 
• Continuing Care Home Type B Level 4 (Formerly known as Supportive Living 4 or SL4) Continuing Care Home Type B – Secure Space (Formerly known as Supportive Living 4D or SL4D)
