Remarkable Residents is a long-standing Signature Program celebrating the contributions and successes of the seniors who call Seasons Retirement Communities home. This yearly contest asks people to nominate a Seasons resident who has overcome obstacles to reach their goals and become an exemplary community member through their talents, volunteerism, and work.
This program makes residents feel valued and heard. It encourages reflection on past experiences and allows team members to learn something unique and personal about the residents they serve and support daily. Remarkable Residents also includes a $20,000 donation from Seasons divided between the three finalists to a charity they choose.
Despite their challenges and hardships, most residents express being content with their choices and looking back on their lives without many regrets. Seasons asked, “If you could go back in time and speak to your younger self, what would you say?” Hoping to inspire and encourage others, Seasons is sharing some of the responses from its 2023 Remarkable Residents contest:

“Be more forgiving of yourself. Wholeness is attainable; perfection is not. Find out what it is in life you are passionate about, and then live it.” Elinor, Seasons Camrose
“Always enjoy every day and stage of life and don’t rush it. Trust yourself, and be true to yourself.” Loraine, Seasons Drayton Valley
“Learn as much as you can. The best way to succeed is to be as knowledgeable as possible, learn everything, and ask questions.” Vincent, Seasons High River
